TZATZIKI


Greece is the home of the best known sauce of man, Tzaziki!

Tzatziki is one of the classic Greek sauces or appetizers with as many varieties. This spectacular food is made with yogurt, garlic, olive oil and fresh dill. Although it is a combination of various ingredients, it is easy to prepare.

To prepare the best recipe in the world of Tzatziki you will need a cup of cucumber (1 large or 2 small). If yours have seeds, take them out first. If you want you can chop cucumbers in the food processor. Leave the peel, more nutrients and fibers! Once the cucumber has been shredded or diced, prepare to add it to the yogurt.


HOW TO DO GREEK TZATZIKI?


After combining your Greek yogurt and chopped cucumber, the rest is pretty simple. Finely chop 1 tablespoon of dill, chop 2 cloves of garlic and measure 2 tablespoons of lemon juice or white wine vinegar. You can leave the yogurt for a few hours or half an hour. Stir it all together and it is ready to be tasted.

INGREDIENTS:


2 cups plain Greek yogurt 480 g, can use dairy-free
1 cup shredded or diced cucumber 200 g
2 Tablespoon lemon juice or white wine vinegar 30 mL
2 cloves garlic minced
1 Tablespoon chopped dill
Salt and pepper to taste


INSTRUCTIONS:



  • Thicken yogurt 




  • Prep cucumber: Meanwhile, sprinkle salt onto shredded or diced cucumber and lay on paper towel to draw out moisture.




  • Mix: Mix together yogurt, cucumber, dill, garlic, and lemon. Season with salt and pepper to taste.



NOTES:


Add a touch of extra-virgin olive oil for flavor and shine.
Serve with pita, veggies, on Roasted Chickpea Gyros, or really anything!
