SKILLET GOULASH


Today I present an old-fashioned Italian recipe but the dish is always present on the table.
This simple recipe is called Goulash Skillet. it's delicious and quick to prepare. Use the condensed tomato soup and diced tomatoes with 2 cloves of chopped fresh garlic. Cook the garlic with minced meat and onions.


This recipe contains pasta that is cooked directly with the other ingredients, making it a unique dish. Since the pasta is cooked in the sauce, it has a better consistency and absorbs more flavors of the cooked pasta in a huge pot of boiling water.


INGREDIENTS:


1 pound ground beef
2 chopped onions
1 chopped red pepper
1 spaghetti sauce in jar (26 oz)
2 (14 ounces) cubed cans of undrained tomatoes
2 chopped fresh garlic
2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar
2 teaspoons of sugar
From 1 to 3 teaspoons of paprika, to taste
1 teaspoon of dried marjoram leaves
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/8 of a teaspoon of pepper
1 cup of water
Chopped flat-leaf parsley of 1/4 cup, if desired
2 and 1/2 cups rolls or twin pasta or pasta to your pleasure


INSTRUCTIONS:


  • In a large skillet, cook the minced meat, the onion, the pepper and the garlic until the meat is golden and the vegetables are tender, stirring to break the meat. Drain well.

  • Add the condensed tomato, the diced tomatoes with their liquid, vinegar, sugar, paprika, marjoram, salt, pepper and water in the pan with the minced meat and onions and cook for 8-10 minutes or until the mixture begins to boil, stirring frequently.

  • Add the pasta to the pan and bring the mixture to a boil. Slowly cook the food, uncovered, stirring frequently, until the dough is tender, between 11 to 16 minutes. Sprinkle everything with fresh parsley, if used, and serve immediately.

Note:
You can use other types of pasta if you wish. Make sure to taste the pasta while cooking. Always cook the pasta al dente, which means that the pasta is tender, but still has some consistency and a little resistance in the center.


You can also sprinkle this recipe with a grated Parmesan or a Roman cheese before serving, this gives a special flavor to the dish.
