CHICKEN WITH FRIES AND APPLESAUCE


We combine Chicken, Fries, Apple Sauce and we have a simple dish, but a mix that really works. it is the perfect Belgian wellness food. Guaranteed!

Preparation time 1h15


INGREDIENTS:

2 onions
4 tablespoon olive oil
4 apples
1 cinnamon stick
8 sage leaves
500ml Ramborn Original
200ml chicken stock
2 garlic cloves
4 chicken legs
2 tablespoon cornstarch
salt and pepper


INSTRUCTIONS:



  • Roasted cider chicken with apple sauce




  • Preheat the oven to 180 � C.




  • Peel and slice the onions. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan and fry the onion slices for 5 minutes until soft. Put in a pan and set aside.




  • Peel and cook the apples and cut into small pieces. Place in pan with the cinnamon stick, � teaspoon of salt, cider and chicken stock. Bring to a boil, then add the onions into the pan.




  • Peel and slice the garlic cloves. Put your fingers under the skin of a chicken leg to create a small pocket. Put 2 sage leaves and a few slices of garlic in each pocket, then close the pocket. Repeat with the remaining chicken legs. Season the chicken with salt everywhere.




  • Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in the pan and brown the chicken legs on all sides. Place the browned paws on top of the apples in the pan. Cover the pan with the film, put it in the preheated oven and cook for 45 minutes. Remove the film from the chicken after 30 minutes so that the chicken skin can crisp.




  • After 45 minutes, check that the chicken is cooked, if not roasted a little longer.




  • Put the chicken thighs on a plate and cover with a sheet while you finish the sauce.

  • Pour the apples and the remaining liquid into the pan in a pan. Bring to the boil. Dilute the cornstarch in 4 tablespoons of cold water and add to the boiling sauce and mix until a thickened sauce is obtained.




  • Serve the chicken with the apple sauce.
