TURKEY THANKSGIVING FAST AND AROMATED



This roasted turkey recipe from citrus butter and aromatic herbs is tender and simple. With this recipe you will be the queen of your Thanksgiving holiday.


Cooking time: 3 hours


INGREDIENTS FOR 12 SERVES


Meat
14 lb Turkey
To produce
3 cloves of garlic
1 garlic head
1/2 Granny Smith apple, large
1 lemon, large
1 lemon
1 Navel orange, large
3 tablespoons of rosemary, fresh
2 sprigs of rosemary
4 tablespoons of sage, fresh
5 sprigs of sage
3 tablespoons of thyme, fresh
5 sprigs of thyme


Cooking and spices


1 kosher salt and fresh ground pepper
1 pinch of pepper
1 pinch of salt
dairy
1 butter butter, not salted


Other
1/2 large orange (cut into two slices)


Just be ... mix a concoction of citrus butter and herbs in a bowl of cereal and spread it all over the turkey ... over and under the skin. Under the skin it is very important!


So, if you want to take the easy road this year ... try this method and everyone will be happy, especially you. It is important not to overcook the turkey too much
Buy a meat thermometer now if you do not have it.


To seal everything, burn the outside of the turkey to 500 degrees, so as to keep all the juices inside. So, preheat the oven to 500 degrees while you prepare everything.


After 30 minutes, turn off the heat to 350 degrees to finish the roasting process. At this point, enter the meat thermometer to make sure you do not cook your turkey too much.


To roast turkey, timing is everything, if you want tender and moist turkey meat. The cooking time depends totally on the weight of the turkey and if you have decided to stuff it. Cooking times are typically 15 minutes per pound ... give or take ... stuffing or not.


Cook the stuffing in a separate saucepan to avoid any contamination. Remember, turkey is safe to eat when it has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees ... that is when the probe thermometer is inserted into the thickest part of the thigh.


These are the weight and time needed to cook the unstuffed turkey:


4-8 pounds  1 1/2 � 2 1/2 hours
8-12 pounds 2 1/2 � 3 hours
12-14 pounds 3 � 3 1/2 hours
14-18 pounds 3 1/2 � 4 hours
18-20 pounds 4 -4 1/2 hours


Now that we have the oven temperature and oven times down ... .Prepare a simple herb butter mixture to rub and go over the turkey. It's easy, fast and adds a lot of flavor while keeping the turkey moist.



  • Preheat the oven to 500 degrees.




  • In a bowl, mix the butter with citrus herbs.




  • Carefully, loosen the hole is not a hole in it.




  • With your hands, spread the butter under the skin, inside the cavity of the turkey and then on the skin to cover.




  • Fill the cavity of the turkey with garlic, oranges and aromatic herbs.




  • Truss the turkey by tying the legs with kitchen twine.




  • Arrange the turkey in a pan and transfer to the oven.




  • Roast turkey for 30 minutes at 500 degrees and then turn on the oven to 350.




  • Remove the turkey from the oven and rest for 20 minutes covered with aluminum foil.




  • Carve and serve

Note:
To guarantee a uniform cooking, I cover the breast with a piece of film that has the shape of a triangle.
Brush the bottom side with oil to prevent sticking and place the foil on the turkey breast when you lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees.
